Short Fiction: The Power of Tea
Short Fiction: Confessions of a Tyrophile

Hibiscus Harlequin Bugs (Tectocoris diophthalmus) feed on many species of plant, piercing the stems of young shoots and sucking the sap. Females lay clusters of eggs around twigs and then guard them until they hatch. Also known as "stink bugs", they have scent glands which produce a bad smell - when emitted, one bug triggers others in the group, multiplying the bad smell.

“I usually compare the novel to a mammal, be it wild as a tiger or tame as a cow; the short story to a bird or a fish; the microstory to an insect (iridescent in the
best cases).”
Luisa Valenzuela
