NED KELLY

05/04/26

The late bushranger, Ned Kelly, has a lingering presence in my life, and my flash fiction, Fifteen, Taken Unawares was already in draft when Matt Potter, editor of Pure Slush, set fifteen as the theme for his latest anthology.

I’d been working with Ned’s first known photograph – one he didn’t want taken at all, especially under the circumstances – when he was still a young bushranger apprentice in Australia’s rural Victoria. More about that in this story about icons and truths and conservation, out in Fifteen Pure Slush, Vol 24.

This collection celebrates of fifteen years of publishing, with over seventy authors from around the world. eBook versions – both ePub and Kindle – also available.

Happy Birthday Mr Potter the Editor – and Pure Slush!
